Identifying errors can help avoid premium adjustment.
Zenith helps ensure that our policyholders do not pay more for premium than necessary.
 | We evaluate information about a policyholder’s business through a process called premium audit. Premium audit representatives are available to review our policyholders’ businesses for cost-effective ways to calculate premium that accurately reflect their business. The amount of workers’ compensation premium a business pays is directly related to the unique nature of the businesses we insure. The price varies based on the amount of payroll a business has and the types of jobs the employees do. Zenith analyzes these factors to determine the amount of premium to charge. |
Zenith’s premium audit process benefits policyholders by:
- Guarding against incorrect business group classification that can result in inaccurate premium amounts. Errors in classification can lead to under-payments that can result in retroactive billings, or over-payments, which can affect a business’ working capital.
- Providing a service called payroll segregation. In instances where a worker has multiple functions within a business, payroll segregation allows businesses (and individuals) to have more than one classification for a worker or group of workers. These classifications often have different premium rates.
